 resent the exhibit &ldquo\;Far East to West\, A Series of Gouache Works&
 rdquo\; featuring artist Richard Lazarro through June 16. An opening rec
 eption\, free and open to the public\, will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m
 . May 18. There will a brief gallery talk at 5:15 by Anderson Turner\, d
 irector of galleries.\nLazzaro has been a prominent advocate for abstrac
 t painting for more than 50 years as an artist and educator. His art is 
 represented in more than 400 private and public collections.\nThe Downto
 wn Gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from
  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
