For more than a year the former Main Street Tavern has been closed.
State officials revoked the vendor's license for the business and nearly revoked its liquor permit. The owners of the former bar and restaurant also owed thousands of dollars in back taxes.
We want to know what kind of business or use would be a good fit in the building and serve Kent's western neighborhoods well.
Share your suggestions for the building's reuse in the comments.

Drive-in restaurant. It could have a catchy name such as... "The Short Stop."

The best use of that building is exactly what the Hart Girls were doing with it, I was a great little West End Restaurant and they did a great job for the Early Bird Older Kentites.
The restaurant business is very tuff too bad they couldn't make it.
However " New Blood " could make a go of it, that end of town needs a " Tavern "
Not another FF Grease Trap.

I like the drive-thru idea. Call it Bar-None because it USED to be a bar. :)

If it sits vacant long enough, I'm sure some business will just move in, put out a sign and say: open.
@karen: alot of people agree with you.

It should just be reopened. I want that place back, as it was!

Maybe the next generation of Harts should revisit it (or the side door)

I agree with almost everyone who has commented. Having the Main Street Tavern back would be the best possible use for the property. It was an ideal place for seniors and those living on a fixed income to go for a good quality meal at an affordable price. My elderly father and I enjoyed many relaxing lunches here and were both disappointed when the state closed them down.

It was a GREAT place! Would like something similar as stated. Great fish, steaks, salads, serving 3 meals and all ages. A spin on vegan or vegitarian would be great!

A "gentlemen's club" is just what that area needs. I can't imagine a less inviting looking building for a restaurant--with an interior to match. At least some topless dancers would draw people in.

A club for the ladies, too. They need some spice in their lives, too. Maybe one room for the girl dancers and one room for the guy dancers.
