What are You Thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Post your thanks givings in the comments

Sometimes it's easier to concentrate on life's challenges than it is to reflect on the positive aspects.

Let's change that by sharing our thanks givings all this holiday week here in the comments.

It can be a person, an animal, a job or just something simple — like remote electric start!

So, what are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

I'm thankful for my wonderful wife, who raked leaves to the curb for me after my back gave out raking the back yard. Thanks!

I can't believe no one else is thankful for anything this year.

Two - or maybe three - years ago, I made a list of things I was thankful for. Before anyone thinks I'm trying to pull a humble/saintly act, I'll admit I started the list to make a point to my kids about being grateful. It turned out to be a real lesson for me. At first I listed "things" we have - like a Wii, with extra controllers, and assorted electronics, and more books than I can count - then I added the dog, because isn't having a pet a luxury? Then I added hot running water. And food. And friends. And a roof. And long before I reached the end of the list of things I am grateful for, it was very late and I was onto about my fourth sheet of paper, and I was nowhere near done. I'm pretty sure there are many countless readers out there, Matt - probably some who are even thankful for you for keeping Kent Patch up to date every day!

I am grateful for my amazing family, coffee, photography, being a part of this cool town and it's revitalization, our parks, the awesome teachers at Walls, old friends and new ones, my education, chocolate, and peace of mind. Here's a poem I found on the topic - author unknown.

Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
