Welcome Our Newest Blogger: Angie Orlando
Deaf-blind Kent native brings creative writing to Kent Patch blog
Today we get to welcome another new blogger to the Kent Patch family: Angie Orlando.
Orlando is a 1992 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and graduated from Kent State University in 1997.
The Kent resident and mother returned to her alma mater to focus on creative writing.
What many may not know about Orlando is that she is deaf-blind. She writes about her challenges and triumphs on her personal blog, Dot Bug: Deaf, Blind and Determined.
She joins other recent additions to the Kent Patch blogging family, including Sally Burnell, Lisa Regula Meyer, Elliott Ingersoll, Erin Labelle and David Flexer, and Orlando brings the Kent Patch blogger tally to 17. That's right, 17 of your fellow readers and neighbors are writing about their community and sharing their thoughts. And there are even more Kent folks in the process or pipeline who have yet to write their first blog.
Nationally, more than 10,000 small-town America residents are blogging for Patch. You can do the same by clicking here to apply and become a blogger.
So join me in welcoming another Kent resident to the Kent Patch blog family, and give Orlando the warmest welcome of all — read her first blog titled Where I'm From.
