The ceremonial start to construction of the new Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center started this morning with a groundbreaking and speeches from university officials.

Successful hotel developer and Kent native Ron Pizzuti came back to his hometown this morning to help break ground on the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center.

Pizzuti, who is chairman and CEO of The Pizzuti Companies, is partnering with the Kent State Foundation for the more than $15 million, four-story hotel and conference center in downtown Kent.
