Two Seats Open on Robinson Memorial Board of Trustees

Application deadline is Monday for the two six-year positions.

The deadline to apply for one of two open seats on the Robinson Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees is Monday.

The term of office for both positions is six years, expiring the first Monday in March 2018. The Board of Trustees has the entire charge, control and management of the hospital, including employing a president and chief executive officer.

Those applying for the positions must be electors of the area served by the hospital. One member must be a registered member of the Democratic Party or an independent, and one member must be a registered member of the Republican Party or an independent, as state law requires the two parties to be evenly represented.

Board members serve without compensation, but will be allowed necessary and reasonable expenses incurred during the performance of their duties. There are 10 board members and the board meets, as scheduled, at the hospital.

All persons interested in serving should submit a resume, qualifications and a letter of request for consideration by Monday to the Portage County Board of Commissioners, attention RMH Board of Trustees, 449 S. Meridian St., Ravenna, OH 44266.

The two new trustees will be appointed according to the Ohio Revised Code, by the Portage Board of Commissioners, the senior Portage County Probate Court judge, Thomas Carnes, and the senior Portage County Common Pleas Court judge, John Enlow.

A meeting of the appointing officials is set for 3 p.m.  March 5 in the Commissioners Board Room at the Portage County Administration Building in Ravenna.

Questions about this process may be directed to Charlene Badger, executive assistant to the commissioners, at cbadger@portageco.com or 330-297-3603.
