Silver Meadows Shooting Victim Recovering
Kent Police detectives are following leads, but still seeking tips from the public.
The teenager who was shot several times early Wednesday morning in the Silver Meadows neighborhood is on the road to recovery, according to Kent Police.
"The last information I received is that he is going to survive – and we’re very glad for that," said Kent Police Capt. Jayme Cole.
Police scanner traffic after the 12:21 a.m. incident Wednesday included a call for the Kent Fire Department to respond to 782 Silver Meadows Blvd. for a victim that had been shot in the head.
The 17-year-old, whose name has not been released by police, interacted with some friends on his Facebook page Friday. Kent Patch is not releasing the teen's name because he is a juvenile.
The suspect, who fled westbound on foot armed with a handgun, is still at large.
He is described as a white male in his mid 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a heavy build. He was was wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt on Wednesday morning.
"The investigation is ongoing and the detective bureau is following up leads," Cole said. "We’re still asking that anybody who may have any information please contact the detective bureau at 673-7732."
