Roundabouts Coming to Summit Street

$14 million-plus project would add two roundabout intersections along Kent State campus

Two roundabout intersections are coming to Summit Street near the Kent State University campus.

Kent City Council voted in committee tonight to approve a plan that adds roundabout intersections at Summit Street and Ted Boyd Drive and Summit Street and Campus Center Drive.

The roundabouts passed by a 5-4 vote with council members Wayne Wilson, John Kuhar, Jack Amrhein and Tracy Wallach voting against the roundabout intersections. Council members Mike DeLeone, Garret Ferrara, Roger Sidoti, Heidi Shaffer and Robin Turner voted for the roundabouts.
