Roosevelt Tops Twinsburg on Penalty Kicks
The Tigers and Rough Riders girls soccer teams played through two extra periods without scoring, bringing the game down to penalty kicks.
It was a hard-fought match between Kent Roosevelt and Twinsburg that was ultimately decided by penalty kicks.
Kent won the match with a final goal on the penalty kick, winning the battle 4-3.
There were several close calls throughout regulation time and both extra periods, however, both defenses remained steadfast in allowing a score.
Up next for Kent is a matchup against Solon, who defeated Cuyahoga Falls 4-0 Thursday.
Solon and Kent will play on Oct. 23 in the district semi-final match. The Comets are the top seed in the district.
