Resident Satisfaction Phone Survey Results Released
Data show residents proud of both Kent City Schools and Kent State University
Improvement of Kent's most basic infrastructure, streets and sidewalks, is a major concern of residents, according to a recent phone survey conducted city wide.
Kent City Manager Dave Ruller released results of a phone survey conducted this summer on Friday.
The majority of respondents, 90 percent, said Kent is an "excellent" or "good" place to live, according to a summary of the results.
Akron-based firm Center for Marketing and Opinion Research conducted the survey. The survey results are attached to this article.
Ruller said previously the data will be used in planning discussions during the next six to nine months.
Hopefully it's a new beginning for great things in Kent, so now is the time to be charting what comes next and where do we go from here," Ruller said. "Answering that question starts with hearing from Kent residents and the survey is an initial effort to begin that community conversation."

The biggest problems I saw while living in Kent (for over 20 years) were...
#1 Drugs
#2 Lack of major employers actually IN Kent
#3 Violent drunk college kids
#4 Parking. Downtown and on Campus
(The second one is why I moved a little further away. And the first is why I'm reluctant to move back with a school aged son... 3&4 are just annoying)

I didnt get called. No one I know got called. I think the Marketing firm had specific people they were asked TO CALL. They called the ones who would give them the answers they wanted in order to complete the agenda that the City and KSU has planned.
I wonder if there is any way to find out exactly how many residents were called?
To have 90% good feedback must have set some kind of record.
