Rep. Clyde Appointed Ranking Member on Local Government Panel
Kent Ohio House representative in second term
State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) has been appointed as the ranking member of the Ohio House of Representatives committee on State and Local Government.
She was also named to the powerful Finance and Appropriations Committee, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Policy and Legislative Oversight Committee. In addition, she will serve on the Finance and Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education.
“I am very honored to be selected for these key committee positions," said Rep. Clyde. “These committee assignments will allow me to continue working on issues that are critical to Portage County – creating stronger communities, advancing higher education, and promoting our agricultural economy.”
Rep. Clyde’s appointment to these committees places her at center stage on the legislative issues most important to the citizens of Portage County. As the ranking member on the State and Local Government Committee, Rep. Clyde will play a leadership role in making local and state government more efficient and responsive to the needs of Ohio citizens. Her appointment to the Finance and Appropriations Committee assures that a representative from Portage County will be at the table when the difficult budgetary issues facing Ohio are debated and resolved. And her appointment to the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will ensure that she as a vital say in the upcoming debates over oil and gas production.
Rep. Clyde represents the 75th Ohio House District, serving Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro, Central and Southern Portage County.
