Pot Dealing Charge for Kent Man

Rodney D. Johnson arrested with 11 bags of marijuana

 

A Kent man has been charged with trafficking in marijuana following an arrest on Silver Meadows Boulevard.

Kent Police arrested Rodney D. Johnson, 35, of 999 Akron Blvd., on charges he was dealing pot.

Police arrested Johnson at 719 Silver Meadows Blvd. just after 8 p.m. June 29. Officers found 11 bags of marijuana, totaling less than 200 grams, on Johnson at the time of his arrest, according to Portage County court records.

The bags were "intended for sale or resale by (Johnson) or another person," according to court records.

Johnson is being held in the Portage County jail on a $500 bond.

He has a preliminary hearing before Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick this morning on the trafficking charge, which is a fifth-degree felony.
