We asked you to nominate the best takeout in Kent and now it's time to vote in our poll to determine the winner.
Local editor Matt Fredmonsky will choose the winner based solely on the number of votes in this poll. Voting ends Aug. 17.
The places you nominated are listed below. Thanks to everyone who nominated a business. The nomination period closed July 9, so if it's not included in the poll the business isn't eligible for a Readers' Choice award.
Winners will be announced Aug. 24 in all 25 categories.
So get voting, and help us pick the Readers’ Choice businesses in Kent!

LaRoush on Franklin near the PUB and Stow street....great fresh alternative to the sad American diet.

I went there many times until I watched the guy make my wrap, then ring the register and handle the money, all with the same gloves on he made my wrap with. Plus, the gloves had holes in them and his thumb was sticking out. Ew. I didn't eat that wrap, and haven't been back since. Sad, too, since it was tasty.

My vote goes to LaRoush. If you haven't been in the last 8 months or so, it has changed hands. Great salad, great hummus and rice. Reasonably priced... I recommend the chicken and rice platter. You may have to be patient, though... Mainly one very clean and conscientious woman preparing the food.

Man, I tried LaRoush a couple of times and was pretty disappointed. Underspiced, undercooked, slow prep time and some of the most awkward service I've ever received at a restaurant. You say they've improved? I may try one more time, but three strikes and they're out in my book.

I never saw the original nomination article and the link at the top doesn't direct there. I'm surprised I don't see Ming Cheng on this list. I've got a number of friends who, upon coming back home for the holidays, head to Ming Cheng for some General Tso's before going anywhere else.

China City ought to be on there. Their food is really good, they use unique ingredients, and the sauces are amazing.

My vote goes for Laroush! Even though I am not a fan of Main Street Continental grill, I am glad to see Pita Pit trailing. I would still probably vote for Laroush, but really? Kent has way more than 3 good takeout places.
Local small business all the way!
