POLL: Historic District for Downtown Kent Under Consideration

City officials are asking the state for authority to create an official historic district in part of downtown Kent

One could say it was only a matter of time.

Kent city officials are trying to establish a state-sanctioned historic district for part of downtown.

The label, in short, would bring with it tax credits to encourage historic preservation of downtown buildings. And that could mean help for philanthropist and developer Ron Burbick as he plans the .
