A Kent couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of leaving a 3-year-old girl home alone.
Kent Police arrested Elizabeth J. Sanderson, 24, and Trevor S. Thompson, 25, both of 1846 Mohican Place, Jan. 19 and charged them both with one count of child endangering, a first-degree misdemeanor.
The boyfriend and girlfriend were charged with leaving Thompson's daughter home alone for an extended period of time, according to Portage County court records.
Police allege that both Sanderson and Thompson were found drunk by officers.
Each entered pleas of not guilty in Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick's courtroom Thursday.
Both were released from jail on personal recognizance bonds. Thompson's release stipulated that he have no contact with his daughter unless approved by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, according to court records.
Thompson and Sanderson are scheduled for pretrial hearings on the charges Monday in Oswick's courtroom.

That poor little girl. I have a 3 yr old granddaughter and I can't IMAGINE leaving her alone for even a MINUTE! How IGNORANT and completely selfish! I can't wait to hear what was SO important that they had to leave this little girl alone! (Probably a trip to the bar) Makes me SICK!

If both parents are so great they would both leave the child alone so they can drink, why is the father the only one not allowed to see his daughter? Mommy doesn't seem to have any common sense either.

Yes, if both parents did the same thing, then whoever made the determination that only the man could have no contact with the child is guilty of sex discrimination and should be called to task for it.
I assume that te earing will be in te Kent courtroom?

the mother was drunk to so why is it the man the only one not allowed to make contact with the daughter.equal rights only are there for when it benefits the woman it is never applied equally.who ever made that decision should be replaced since it was clearly in the wrong both were drunk so both should either be banned or both allowed to have contact.

The male was the only biological parent. If you read the article before commenting you would notice the female and male have two different last names. The next paragraph states that it was the males child. The male probably had visitation, hence why he can no longer see his daughter.

Any woman stupid enough to have a child with that loser probably should not have the kid her self, so you have no point Rachel!
