Police Arrest Kimbolton Man for Breaking into Car Dealerships

Kent Police have arrested a Kimbolton, OH, man on charges he broke into two Kent car dealerships earlier this year.

Police arrested Gary E. Leaster, Jr., 28, on two counts of breaking and entering involving Klaben Auto Stores and Don Joseph Toyota.

Employees at Don Joseph Toyota reported to Kent Police Aug. 18 that several windows were broken and a TV was stolen from the West Main Street car dealership.

The dealership reported a 55-inch LG flat panel TV was stolen and three window panes were broken. All total, the dealership sustained $1,200 in theft and damage.

Leaster is connected to incidents from Aug. 18 and Aug. 24, according to police.

Earlier in August the Toyota dealership reported more than $500 in damage to cars on the car dealer's lot.

As of Thursday Leaster was being held in the Portage County jail on 10 percent of a $20,000 bond, according to Portage County court records.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the charges today.
