Children enjoyed the inflatable slide at the Kent Heritage Festival Saturday, July 7, 2012.

An excessive heat warning and temperatures near 100 degrees Fahrenheit couldn't keep the crowds away from Kent's 17th Annual Heritage Festival Saturday.

I think it is more than 17 years !!! The Heritage Festival started out as " Kent Fest" !! Mid 80's !!! Great times !!!
I still have a button from the first one !! I was working at Rays Place, and the organizers came in to pass them out to patrons !! Great Memories !!!

I missed going to the festival this year--it was just too hot for me and I knew my limits. I hope everyone had a great time.

There was no festival downtown in 1995. The Kent Heritage Festival started in 1996. I have the t-shirt to prove it.

It is a long story - maybe Matt will write it. Hint, hint.

I've heard that the festival has been going on for a few decades and started under a different name. But this is indeed the 17th year for the "Kent Heritage Festival."
