A big piece of Kent's historic manufacturing landscape is getting closer to being just that — history.

Steady rain couldn't slow demolition workers on Thursday as they tore down the almost 100-year-old C.L. Gougler Machine Co. manufacturing complex on Lake Street.

Watch a video of the demolition here that was shot earlier this year.

Contact Marsh Lane, 562 E. Riddle Ave. Rav 330-297-1814. He was married to Charlie Gougler's granddaughter, Judy Morris. Judy passed away about a year ago. Marsh, the son of former RC staff writer, Dottie Lane, worked for Gouglers many years. Judy was the stepdaughter of former Gougler president, Webb Morris. I'm sure he would have many interesting things to share.
