A week-long closure of parking on Erie Street downtown starts Wednesday.
Construction on a water main will force the closing of Erie Street between South DePeyster and South Water streets for at least a week, but city officials say parking may be available during the evenings after construction work ends for the day.
Parking will be available during the weekend, and the road is expected to reopen on May 9.
Local traffic will be maintained on Erie Street during the water main construction.
Free, long-term parking is available a few blocks away on Franklin Avenue.
