New Senior Housing Gets OK to Start Construction

NRP Group issued building permit for 68-unit Maple Brook at Four Seasons

Construction can start on the new senior housing units planned for vacant land adjacent to KentRidge at Golden Pond.

The Kent Community Development Department issued a building permit to Cleveland-based NRP Group this month for construction of the $4.9 million, 68-unit Maple Brook at Four Seasons, which will be built at 5241 Sunnybrook Road.

Joseph McCabe, project manager for NRP Group, said previously the project is on track to open by December 2013.

The units are targetted specifically for low-income seniors and in April the Ohio Housing Finance Agency awarded $1.2 million for the project. The housing will be targeted at seniors with a yearly income ranging from $15,000 to $30,000.
