What a shame that someone has so little respect for all the hard work that was done to do this beautiful mural for our market. I sure hope it cleans up without any damage to it,

This mural is truly a work of art and of love by Elaine and the Kent community. My heart breaks to know that someone could have such little care for this monumental endeavor. I along with many others from the community helped Elaine turn the Haymaker bridge into an object of beauty. Thankfully the art has been protected with a clear coat and will be restored as a lasting reminder of our farmers' market.

Time to set some motion cameras, in some key locations. Like deer hunter cameras, that can also notify a monitor of activity. Anyone caught spends 40 hours removing paint around town. Is also labeled a pain in society's ass, and forced to register as a jackass where ever they move for 10 years.

I was down to the bridge this evening and saw the graffiti tag. It should be fairly easy to identify the person with the can of paint, he actually used his name. Apparently not the sharpest pencil in the box, this one!

Wait, no one saw this coming?

1. They did see it coming (i.e. the mural is protected by a special coating), but it's still upsetting.
2. In the future, I hope the tagger doesn't get equal press with the muralist by displaying his/her "art" in photographs in the the media. If vandalism occurs, please, no photos! Anyone who wants to know or see can pay their respects in person.
