More Residents use 'Citizen Action Center' on City Website

City manager says popularity of service increasing

 

More Kent residents are looking online for answers to common neighborhood problems, such as how to pay a parking ticket, according to Kent City Manager Dave Ruller.

The city manager posted on his blog Tuesday that interest in Kent's Citizen Action Center, an online portal on the city's website, is rising as residents and business owners search for answers to common questions about building permits, potholes and other issues.

"The number of clicks on our Frequently Asked Question page were up 59 percent from 2011 and 373 percent from 2010," Ruller wrote. "It’s great to see that we’re trending up."

Has anyone used it to question the 8% increase in water and sewer charges? And the increase in recycling charges? Every month, I get my bill and there are always comments in it. Three months in a row they told me I could pay my bill with Visa or Mastercard if i wanted to. They even took the time to wish me a :Happy New Year. You would think they would advise us our bill was going up. Is it automatically set to increase 8% or more every year?

Matt- appreciate the refresher on the article but don't you think the city should be updating the residents? I don't always read the Patch and I certainly don't think I should have to in order to find out my bill is going up.
