Kent State to Name University’s New Provost Monday

President Lefton to announce Robert Frank's successor.

Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton will introduce the university’s new senior vice president for academic affairs and provost to the Kent State community at 11 a.m. Monday.

The presentation will take place in Room 204 at the Kent Student Center.

The new Kent State administrator will succeed Robert Frank, who recently accepted the position of president at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

The provost is the chief academic officer of a college or university. It is the second-highest ranking position at the university behind the president.

At Kent State, the provost is responsible for all academic affairs functions of the university, leading the faculty and staff within Kent State’s nine colleges and seven regional campuses located throughout Northeast Ohio.
