The two student members of the Kent State University Board of Trustees want to make fellow students more aware of decisions made by top administrators at the school.

To do so, the student trustees launched a Twitter page, @KSUStudentTrust.

Chelsea Knowles, the board's graduate student trustee, said her goal was to increase student awareness of "the issues up top."

"Our main outreach is to students," Knowles said.

The board of trustees is the governing board of the university and its members are appointed by the Ohio governor. The board members vote on everything from the university's annual budget  to faculty and staff contracts.

Knowles and undergraduate student trustee Alex Evans are non-voting members of the trustee board.
