Raymond Ayers of Brimfield is in his third year of sporting a statue of liberty costume to wave and smile at motorists driving past Liberty Tax Service on South Water Street in Kent. Asked Friday afernoon how he can keep smiling when it's cold, snowy and windy outside, and Ayers just smiled bigger. "It's pretty cold, but they take good care of me," he said. "I go inside (Liberty Tax) every half hour to warm up and drink hot coffee." Ayers only works at Liberty during tax season.

Kids and dogs romping in the snow. Snowmen and igloos. Neighbors helping neighbors with shoveling or snowblowing. Hiking and skiing. They're all great winter activities that many people tend to photograph.

I love the Liberty tax wavers and look forward to seeing them these last couple years. I think it's a great marketing tool. I always wondered if they had to stay outside the whole time. It's good to know that Liberty is considerate of their outside workers and allows appropriate warm up breaks : )
