Kent Man Attempts Suicide in Jail
Matthew P. Dibease was arrested on driving under suspension charges
A Kent man tried to kill himself shortly after he was arrested and booked at the Portage County Jail Friday, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
Portage County Sheriff David Doak said that Matthew P. Dibease, 29, of 408 Park Avenue, attempted suicide at the jail Friday after being admitted just before 2 p.m.
Doak said Dibease was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was arrested and committed to jail on charges of driving under suspension and failure to reinstate.
The sheriff's office is investigating the suicide attempt.
