Kent Police Officer James Ennemoser recently joined the ranks of sergeant at the Kent Police Department.
The department promoted Ennemoser, one of the station's K9 officers, this week, according to the department's website.
The 15-year veteran of the police force most recently served as a road-unit officer on the midnight shift. His new role means he will serve as sergeant of the day shift.
This spring, Ennemoser was among the 2012 Real Heroes award recipients recognized by the American Red Cross of Summit and Portage Counties. Last year, the Kent cop saved a 16-year-old boy from drowning in the Cuyahoga River.
