Hundreds of Flashes Fans Gather Downtown to Send-off Football Team
Kent State's team buses left for the MAC Championship game in Detroit this morning
A sea of yellow and blue swept into downtown Kent this morning as hundreds of Golden Flashes fans gathered to send off the Kent State University football team buses as they left for Detroit, MI, this morning.
The team is headed to the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship game against Northern Illinois. The two teams will meet Friday at 7 p.m. in Ford Field.
The Flashes captured the MAC East Division title earlier this season with a perfect 8-0 record.
Kent State’s overall 11-1 record makes them bowl-eligible, and they could possibly make an appearance in the Orange Bowl if they win in Detroit tomorrow.
If you want a ticket to Detroit, the deadline to order your game ticket from Kent State is today at 4:30 p.m. You can call the Kent State ticket office at 330-672-2244 to order yours.
Visit the Kent State Athletics website for more information about the game.

What a thrill seeing the Town and University come together in positive celebration. I have waited over 40 years to see this.

As a Graduate of "that other university up north" and "THE" Kent State University I am simply amazed that I have lived to see KSU ranked higher in the national polls than "Meechigan".

I'll take that and raise you one more. Who would have thought that Kent State would be ranked higher in the BCS poll than THE "So we don't get it confused with some other" Ohio State University.
