Hometown Bank Donates $10,000 to United Way
Donation is 15 percent increase over bank's previous annual contribution
The United Way of Portage County is celebrating a big donation from Kent-based Hometown Bank.
The local financial institution donated $10,000 to the United Way's fundraising campaign this year. The donation represents a 15 percent increase in the donation from the bank's associates and the business itself last year.
“We are very grateful for the support of Hometown Bank," said Steve Kleiber, President & CEO of United Way of Portage County. “This will help fund many local programs in our community that provide support to thousands each year."
Each year the United Way raises money to support 43 partner programs located throughout 14 different service agencies across Portage County. Programs include feeding families, providing abuse counseling and support and mental health services.
The United Way kicks off its fall fundraising campaign Thursday at the Kent State University home football opener against Towson University with AMETEK.
