Homeless Man Charged with Kidnapping
Jamal Rasheed Harris held in jail on $20,000 bond
A homeless man charged with kidnapping and robbery is being held in the Portage County jail on a $20,000 bond.
Jamal Rasheed Harris, 33, was charged by Kent Police Wednesday with kidnapping, a first-degree felony, and robbery, a second-degree felony. Police arrested Harris Wednesday morning at 1210 Anita Drive.
According to court records, Harris was charged with using force, threat or deception to kidnap the victim, who is under the age of 13 or mentally incompetent.
Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick ordered Harris held on the $20,000 bond Thursday. A preliminary hearing is set for June 29.
The arrest on kidnapping and robbery charges came just one day after he pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing drug abuse instruments, a minor misdemeanor.
Harris was evicted from a Silver Meadows Boulevard address in May, according to court records.

This story gives few details and does not explain the circumstances such as the kidnapped victim's relationship to the accused nor what was robbed nor why? I don't get it.

Well a little investigation using court record look up tells me, that Jamal and whoever the victim or victims parents are all have some drug issues that should be investigated. This Guy has a huge criminal arrest record. some drug related others seem to be indications of a violent person.....This tells me someone either owed him drug money, or had drugs he planned on robbing....the guy has been busted with a Syringe on two occasions within a 2 month period. Wake the hell up KPD, it looks like you know this guy on a first name basis, as many times he has entered your courts...I bet he doesnt show up for his court dates, wow you didnt hold him? syringe equals Heroin or Meth, I doubt the guy is a diabetic...lol
