Protestors Gather for Fur Free Friday
Approximately 30 protesters gathered along Cedar Road near Beachwood Place Mall to protest the sale of animal furs
Some 30 protesters led a Fur Free Friday protest at Beachwood Place Mall along Cedar Road just outside the mall's property.
Leigh Davis of Cleveland Animal Rights Alliance said that forty-five million animals are killed a year at fur farms for their fur. The alliance has been in existence for 19 years. Davis urged shoppers to buy cruelty free products.

More than likely. More so in your eyes than most folks. and that's Fine. Can see that any one who disagrees with you is ignorant. I or we Can not change that. AND THATS OK. I CAN LIVE WITH IT. Hold up your signs, Picket, and block the exit and entrants of business people trying to make a living. If I come through there will be a bump bump noise that maybe you will understand, PERSONALY. I Still love my fur and Meat.

Looks like a max of 5 "housewives of cleveland hts to me", two of which dye their hair for sure. Hmm, is that healthly green living? All that dye ending up in lake erie. None of them look emaciated, so at least I can't tell if they are vegans.
Marty, is this more supid to you than Myron's comment? I hope so

Actually, I know a few of the protesters, and they are indeed vegan, and it's called bleaching not dying. Also, this stupid ideal that all vegans are skinny and unhealthy looking is bullshit. Google Vegan Body Builders and celebs and then get back to us.

NO PROBLEM =B=. We just added you to the list above. AS the good Lord once said, Judge me not less ye so be judged. Think thats bad grammer also. Can not say for the spelling. But then I always did have a problem with it. Keep getting other languages inter woven. How ever can carry a converstation with all. Question is can you??? But from the personal attack. Lets get back to the Fur issue. I beleave its a few old bats trying to tell others what they can and can not do. THATS WRONG. BAR NONE. If you do not want to use or wear fur DON'T. But do not try to tell us who do that we can not. If you want to be a Vagen like my grandson. Do it and God Bless. But do not try to tell me or others we can not eat meat. Nuff Said.

These animals used for fur don't have a "choice" they are anally and vaginally electrocuted, gassed but not gassed enough because they wake up while they are being skinned alive. They live in filthy cages, and go insane from confinement, they resort to eating one another, and all so someone can feel cool wearing a fur coat. It's not needed in this day and age, it's barbaric and extremely cruel. As vegans and animal rights activists, we have taken on the roll of being these animals voices. Can I ask you what you do to make the world a better place?

Skinning the animals alive is the biggest myth! Would you chance ruining an expensive pelt trying to skin an animal that is moving around? How ridiculous. Those videos and pics are from asia, where they skin the animals for MEAT. Yeah, gruesome, but it doesn't happen here. I know a mink farmer. And in the sake of a green world, fur is the way to go. Renewable, lasts forever, is the warmest for coats, and does not use petroleum products as the synthetics do. So which is the ethical choise? I choose fur. We don't force anyone to wear fur, so stop forcing us to not wear it. You have NO RIGHT to do so!

Have the animals agreed to give you their coats? Do they have a say? Do you have proof to substantiate your myth? We have much proof to the contrary - much undercover material. We are not a sentimentally based group of "tree huggers" - we are business people, educators, professionals - all using our combined intelligence to enlighten people as to WHY using and abusing animals to satisfy our hedonism and greed is just wrong and immoral. thank you

Ann, I suggest you rent the Documentary "The Witness" or youtube fur farm videos in America, they are indeed skinned alive. Better yet I will provide you with a link to watch it. However, I doubt you will:

Wow, such awful, mean spirited comments. There were over 30 men and women at this peaceful protest. I can speak for many of them that they lead a TRUE vegan lifestyle. We did not block any entrance to anywhere, and we do not "bump" anyone. We are tolerant of slurs aimed at us and do not voice comments back - are simply grateful for support. We hope that those who mock us will someday become enlightened. The poor treatment of animals is not an indication of our so called "supreme" intelligence - it is a paradox of it. Live skinning, anal and vaginal electrocution, clubbing, crushing so that one can own a leather or fur article is obscene, hedonistic and vicious. And as far as the PETA meal, that comment is very tired and trite. Factory farming is a horrible practice and perpetuating it's violence, especially as joke, says a great deal regarding the caliber of the person making fun of torture and abuse. There IS a link between those who support abuse, practice apathy and self indulgence and in how they treat humans. I am very happy that I am surrounded by ethical, compassionate people who take time from their busy lives to speak for those who can not defend themselves. And for those simply arguing to evoke anger in others for their beliefs - shame on you.

I am a former vegetarian who wears fur and supports these people entirely. What I am a little befuttled by, is the venomous, evil, hate that is personal in nature towards the protesters. Everyone has a right to free speech, but some of the comments are not free speech. They are slanderous hate filled tirades. FYI everyone better leave Thunder out of it.

Gia, I commend all of you that were there! I wish I could have participated:) From what I have seen of the amazing individuals involved in animal rights and activism in the area is that they act with integrity and respect. It is unfortunate that the shoppers could not reciprocate with common courtesy. With that being said I know that we will not let the voice of the innocent and helpless be lost and will persevere!!! I look forward to helping out in the future!
Proud to be Vegan!
