The overwhelming majority of Kent residents making contributions to presidential election campaigns this year are doing so in support of President Barack Obama.
So far, 281 of 299 total donations made by Kent residents to presidential election campaigns were to Obama's re-election effort. The remaining 18 donated in support of Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
That's 93 percent of Kent presidential campaign donors who support the Democratic incumbant.
Some prominent Kent donors include Kent City Councilwoman Tracy Wallach, Kent State University President Lester Lefton's wife, Linda, and the CEO of Hallrich Inc., Anthony Szambecki, who operates 86 Pizza Hut franchises and has headquarters in Stow.
Want to know who's donating to which campaign?
Patch has created an interactive database so you can see how much your neighbors are donating to the presidential campaign — and to which candidate they’re writing their checks. We’ve included communities across Ohio, so if you want to see what the campaign contributions in Broadview Heights or Seven Hills look like, go right ahead.
The information in the database was downloaded from the Federal Election Commission’s website. The data is based on quarterly reports, and is current through July. The data will be updated in mid-October.

It's a shame anyone sends money to support these gross campaigns. All the money being spent to call each other names and tell lies could be much better spent. Together the main candidates have raised over 1 billion dollars. How embarassing.

Quite frankly it's none of my business, it's their money. Why does this database even exist?
