Building Permits: $150,000 Renovation of 'University Oaks' Clubhouse

The clubhouse at the former Silver Oaks Place retirement complex is getting a big face lift as developers of the complex turn it into student apartments.

The city of Kent recently issued a building permit to CDC Kent LLC for renovation of the clubhouse at "University Oaks." The renovation is expected to cost $150,000, according to the building permit.

The 200-plus unit apartment complex is in the midst of a massive transformation from former senior housing to student apartments.

Other building permits recently issued by the city include:

  • Ryan S. and Lora A. Ferrara, 731 Dominion Drive, partial basement finish, $25,000
  • Gertrude Myers, 921 Franklin Ave., replace front deck, $1,000
  • Ingrid Sander, 716 Allerton Drive, replace existing deck, $2,000
  • Mary Brooks, 373 Silver Meadows Blvd., fence in rear yard, no cost listed
