Building Permits: $14.3 Million Student Apartment Complex
All information is according to the city of Kent's building department
The developers planning a new student apartment complex on the former site of Sunrise Apartments have approval from the city to start construction.
Kent's Community Development Department issued building permits for the $14.3 million University Edge student apartment complex at 5694 Rhodes Road.
The developers, Hallmark Campus Communities out of Columbus, demolished the 98-unit facility with plans to build a 200-unit apartment complex just on the eastern edge of the Kent State University campus.
The following permits were issued:
- Hallmark Campus Communities, University Edge, clubhouse, 5694 Rhodes Road, no cost
- Hallmark Campus Communities, University Edge apartment complex, 5694 Rhodes Road, $14,250,000
Demolition work started last month at the complex. Tenants were forced to vacate by Aug. 1.
