Blotter: Kent Man Charged with Skipping on Bar Tab

Booze Theft
A Kent man has been accused of skipping out on a rather large bar tab at one of downtown Kent's taverns.
Kent Police arrested Jordan Alexander, 21, of 421 N. Water St. earlier this month on charges he ran up a $75 bar tab at Water Street Tavern and did not pay it.
Alexander was arrested at the bar just before 11 p.m. Aug. 5 and pleaded not guilty to the theft charge, a first-degree misdemeanor, in Portage County Municipal Court on Aug. 6.
Alexander told police he works in a phone call center at Kent State University.
Random Vandalism
Three businesses spread throughout Kent were hit by vandals this month.
Don Joseph Toyota reported more than $500 in damage to cars on the car dealer's lot Aug. 3.
157 Lounge reported a glass window pane on a rear door to the bar was broken and sustained about $100 in damage on Aug. 5.
Marcia's Beauty Salon reported the front of the building and the parking lot were tagged with spray paint on Aug. 6 causing about $100 in damage.
