Annual Brunch Bunch Auction Supports Charities

Thanksgiving Day fundraiser features Goodyear blimp ride; Kent State men's basketball team members as guest auctioneers

This year's annual Brunch Bunch Thanksgiving Day charity fundraiser will feature some unique auction items: including a College World Series clubhouse chair signed by Kent State men's baseball coach Scott Stricklin.

The fundraiser marks its 44th year supporting local charities with the auction set for 8 a.m. to noon on Thanksgiving Day at the Kent American Legion.

The live auction features items donated by local businesses and organizations and features guest auctioneers from the Kent State men's basketball team and their coach, Rob Senderoff, along with Kent State men's golf coach Herb Page.

Items up for auction this year include the CWS chair and a ride on the Goodyear Blimp.

A $3 donation at the door gets you in — and all the coffee, cider and doughnuts you can eat.

The Brunch Bunch committee is accepting donated items for the auction and monetary donations. Donations can be dropped off at Hall-Green Agency, 146 N. Depeyster Street in Kent, Portage Community Bank in Ravenna at 1311 E. Main Street or at their Kent location at 1532 S. Water Street. For event information, contact Michelle Hartman at 330-815-4315.

Charities to benefit from the auction include Kent Social Services hot meals, The Center of Hope food cupboard, Coleman Professional Services Adult Day Food Program, and The Lord's Pantry emergency food cupboard.
